13w3d

I've been lazy and I'm sorry for neglecting this! I think it's because I don't have a lot of baby things going on, but I have a lot of other issues that have come up but won't get talked about on here. Sorry!!! Nothing against you guys, but since this is a public blog, I'm not really sure who's out there, lol!

Okay, onto the baby stuff!

I had my NT scan today and it went great! Little baby though was being a pain and not letting the tech get the measurement of the neck fold (hello, whole reason why this was done!). But after a lot of turning this way, and turning that way, and even some "earthquakes" with the wand, baby briefly turned the right way for a second!

At all of my other ultrasounds, baby has just been lying there. The only movement that we saw was at the last appointment and only because baby flinched, twice.

This appointment started out the same way, until the tech did the first "earthquake" (wand is on the belly and she pushes it on and off really fast to get the baby moving). She said it usually works, but our baby wanted nothing to do with it. Baby decided to place its arms by its head, and continued to lounge! When she did it again, this time baby got mad and kicked at the wand! That was the best thing ever! Especially since I can't feel any movement yet, it just amazes me on what's going on inside!

Everything looked good though! The measurement of the neck was at 2.1mm which is good since it needs to be less than 3.5mm. Even my cervix is measuring good at 4.4mm and the Dr. said that as of right now, I have a very low chance of premature labor!

And baby's heart rate is 161bpm! (still high so the OWT is still saying GIRL!!!)

Now for the good stuff, the awesome pics that we got!

Our little froggy face!

Arms are up by the head, just lounging!

Profile pic, now that I'm looking at it, I think baby has daddy's nose!

12w4d

I had my 12w appt yesterday and it went great! Holy hell, this OB office is on their game! Total time there was 20 minutes!

We walked in at 9:13am for our 9:15am appt. I kind of blame myself since I didn't wake up Justin in time. I woke him up at the time he wanted to leave! Oh well, we still made it!

I check in with the receptionist and she tells me to go pee in a cup. I leave the waiting room to go to the bathroom. I was only able to go a little since I went when I woke up and only had a juice box on the car ride over there. I managed what I could and walked out of the bathroom and towards the little metal urine holder/window thing. I open it and there's 3 other cups, to the point where my cup won't fit! So I'm just standing there, holding my cup of pee, when I hear my name being called in the waiting room.

I yell down the hall to her and say that I'm right here! She walks over to me and I tell her that I can't fit my cup in the little window thing. She opens it and then kind of yells at another employee that this should be empty!

I hand her my cup and she dips a protein strip in it and it comes back negative! Takes me to the scale, and I'm up 2lbs, but still down a total of 4lbs from when I had my IUI. I ask her if Justin can come back here and she said yes. I text him and he walks in just a few seconds later.

The nurse got the Doppler and tried to find the heart beat. She was having trouble but I wasn't worried because I have a pooch there and I had a feeling that she wasn't going to find it. Good news about that, is that we got another ultrasound!

The u/s lady was so nice and found the heartbeat right away. It's still at 170bpm (hmmm....girl???) and our little jellybean looks like a baby now! This child is totally Justin's kid, baby was just laying there sleeping, and the only reason we saw movement was because the baby flinched...twice!

She printed out some pictures for us, but you can hardly see anything on them :(

The OB's office finally got everything handled with my insurance about the NT scan and the referral went in on Thursday! I was totally surprised that the hospital called me this morning and we are set for Friday, April 19th at 1:45pm!

Out on Facebook!

Had a great appt today so I didn't want to wait any longer!

This is what I posted:

We've been keeping a secret...

We got so many likes and comments from everyone, it was really surprising!

Now the funny thing. I made Justin look at the picture the night before to make sure that I spelled everything right and he said that it looked good. After posting it, I realized that I had put the wrong year that we were married!!!! We got married January 2012, not 2013!

I asked Justin if I should try and fix it, and his response was, "Just let everyone think you got knocked up right away."

That wasn't flying by me though, since I want to post something about IF during IF awareness week. I then post the right picture and just blamed it on my pregnancy brain, which isn't entirely false.

I think that all my friends got a kick out of me having to post it a second time!

11w4d

I completely forgot about week 10! Okay, not really, but I am not an artist and I got tired of doing the dry erase board fruit pics. And don't even get me started on the block numbers! I got all the athletic ability and my sister got all the art. So woe is me.

Anyways, I figured that I would change it up a little and do something different! I think I like this way much better because now I have more room to write what's going on. I will be using the color of whatever fruit it is as my font color and giving an update of what the baby is doing in there!

Pathetic excuse for an olive!

Much better than my horrible handwriting and drawings!

And now the "official" update!

How far along: 11w4d
Size of Baby: Lime
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Don't know, hopefully still down the 6lbs!

Maternity Clothes: Love them! So much! I practically live in my capri's!

Gender: Since we are able to find out the gender through the NT blood work, we decided to wait until the A/S ultrasound when I'm closer to 20weeks!

Belly Button In/Out: In

Stretch Marks: Still the same ones

Labor Signs: Nope

Movement: Nope

Sleep: About 6 hours a night! I miss my 8-10 hours!

Cravings/Aversions: Cherry Slurpee's!

Symptoms: I got a wicked case of morning sickness the other day. I was dry heaving in the Chipotle bathroom and I'm pretty sure I scared an employee!

Feeling: Happy and anxious. For whatever reason, I want to buy everything now!

Best Moment this Week: I love when Justin talks to the baby and puts his hand on my lower pooch!

What I Miss: The extra 4 hours of sleep!

What I am Looking Forward To: Feeling the baby move!

Milestones: Almost out of the 1st trimester!

Baby Milestones: Baby is about 1.6 inches long and weighs in at about 0.25 ounces. Her tooth buds, hair follicles, and nail beds are forming. Her skin is see-through but she's on her way to looking more like a baby. Her fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore, and she's moving fluidly and gracefully in there, even though I can't feel it!

Next Appointment: Thursday, April 11th. Less than a week away!!!!

NT Test

I called my insurance company to make sure that it was covered. They said that all genetic testing is covered!

Since this is my first, and I absolutely have no idea what I'm doing, all these tests that they offer is leaving me dizzy!

At my first OB appt, the Dr. gave me a pamphlet and he told me that he would like me to consider getting the Quad Marker Screening, but then he added that I can get any test I wanted.

After hearing a lot about the NT (nuchal translucency) screening, I decided that this is the test I wanted. The whole screening process is blood work, then an u/s about a week later, and then more blood work in the 2nd Trimester to see what the odds are of Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18, Spina Bifida, and a few others.

I wake up early on Wednesday, and call my OB's office. I talk to the receptionist and she tells me that she'll have the nurse call me back. The Nurse calls me back and then I have to repeat what I wanted and then she tells me that she is going to have someone else call me back to schedule it.

I wait about an hour, and I get a phone call. Once again, I repeat what I wanted. She then asks me if I know what it consists of. :::Duh, I do my research::: I then tell her the procedure for it. She responds, in a kind of snarky way, with, "You don't have any family history so why do you want it done?"

I explain that I am a FTM and I went through IF treatment and I want to make sure everything is fine.

She continues with, "I have to write something on the referral for the reason why you need it. I guess I can figure out something to write on it. You can pick up your lab slip."

What a bish!

When I picked up the lab slip, I noticed next to her name it says MA!!!! She's a freaking MEDICAL ASSISTANT!!!!! Not even a nurse, and she's giving me hell and making me feel guilty!

I definitely will be talking to my OB about this.

I got the 1st round of blood work done today. She did tell me that I will be hearing from the hospital next week to schedule the appt. Now I just have to wait. (And she better had put my referral in, or shit is really going to hit the fan!)
